1, 2, 3 or 4 units: choosing the right kit
In Morocco, many family houses have several floors, with one apartment per floor. You then need an intercom with one call button per unit on the outdoor panel. The references "1P, 2P, 3P, 4P" generally indicate the number of units (or indoor stations) supported: check the details on each product page.
- Detached house / villa: 1-unit kit, for example Fermax 6201 or Kocom KIP-32GU.
- 2-storey house: Fermax 2 units (6202) or P2 intercom.
- 3-storey house: Fermax 3 units (6203).
- Small apartment building: Fermax 4 units (6204) or P4 intercom.
Key criteria before buying
The outdoor panel
This is the outdoor unit, exposed to sun, rain and sometimes vandalism. Choose a sturdy panel and, if possible, install it in a sheltered spot. Kocom offers, for example, the KC-MC30 1-unit outdoor panel.
The video door phone screen
A larger screen and a good camera make it easy to recognise the visitor, even in the evening. Examples: Kocom KCV-464 video door phone, Kocom white S701EBC, Hikvision DS-KIS604-S(C).
Remote door opening
Most kits can control an electric strike or electric lock: you open the door from inside without going downstairs. To go further, pair your intercom with a smart lock.
Wiring
In a new build, plan conduits between the front door and each unit. In a renovation, a 2-wire kit makes installation much simpler when available.
